Accounting Generalist


Summary:

Finance will be responsible for all accounts, internal and external reporting, compliance with GAAP, establishing internal controls and ensuring compliance with Company policies and statutory regulations. Additional responsibilities will include overseeing corporate insurance renewals, treasury matters and assisting with Human Resource activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Critically review all accounts payable items for accuracy and validity.
  • Oversee appropriate approval process for all A/P items prior to payment.
  • Process accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain an intimate understanding of the overall accounting objectives of the organization to include a detailed understanding of the chart of accounts and the importance of accurate recordkeeping.
  • Code checks using the appropriate level of detail to provide the infrastructure for a cost accounting system
  • Create and maintain purchase orders
  • Record deposits
  • Prepare invoices
  • Enter credit card payments
  • Assist with year end 1099 reporting
  • Prepare semimonthly payroll using ADP Easy Pay system
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive time and materials tracking and invoicing system
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the COO or CAO

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

The individual must have “hands on” experience in an enterprise “start-up” corporate environment. Specific qualifications desired include:

  • Strong financial background
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to communicate with all levels
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint and enterprise accounting software
  • Written and oral presentation skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

A minimum of two (2) years recent experience in Accounting.
