Materials Coordinator
Summary
Responsible for the tactical management of day to day supply chain management activities including coordination of initiatives with internal and external partners in order to meet company schedule and milestone dates. Assures timely and accurate procurement of materials, manages inventory according to master production schedule, manages finished goods shipments and assures all related documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Assists the Project Manager in all activities related to achieving the Company’s Marketing, Clinical, Inventory and Customer Service objectived while adhering to cGMPs, SOPs, DEA regulations and safety policies.
Essential Duties:
- Negotiate, manage and/or maintain Supply Agreements with suppliers and external contract service providers.
- Identify, qualify and introduce alternate sources of supply not currently utilized that improve quality, cost, and service.
- Monitor and manage inventory and distribution services.
- Receive all incoming material and distribute as appropriate or place in quarantine.
- Maintain an accurate inventory and adequate supply of all controlled components and raw materials which directly support manufacturing and laboratory operations.
- Write and revise SOPs and Forms to maintain up to date, accurately reflect the current procedures and make continual improvement.
- Discover, evaluate and recommend new suppliers to continually improve quality, operations efficiency, safety and reduce cost.
- Maintain warehousing operations in a neat, clean, secure and orderly manner in compliance with SOPs, cGMPs and DEA requirements. Perform housekeeping activities of warehouse as required.
- Serve as a key member of the plant security team.
- Coordinate DEA licensing and reporting activities including: ongoing maintenance of registrations, ordering materials, inventory management and ARCOS reporting, obtaining quotas, training personnel and investigating losses or discrepancies.
- Coordinate all logistical functions for both controlled and non-controlled substances.
- Develop budgets for the materials function.
- Perform other assigned tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
- 3 years of logistics experience, preferably in a cGMP environment
- Good written communication skills to read and write SOPs and complete cGMP documents
- Qualified to work with controlled substances
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
